6d183de407 md/raid5: fix newly-broken locking in get_active_stripe.
commit 566c09c534 raid5: relieve lock contention in get_active_stripe()

modified the locking in get_active_stripe() reducing the range
protected by the (highly contended) device_lock.
Unfortunately it reduced the range too much opening up some races.

One race can occur if get_priority_stripe runs between the
test on sh->count and device_lock being taken.
This will mean that sh->lru is not empty while get_active_stripe
thinks ->count is zero resulting in a 'BUG' firing.

Another race happens if __release_stripe is called immediately
after sh->count is tested and found to be non-zero.  If STRIPE_HANDLE
is not set, get_active_stripe should increment ->active_stripes
when it increments ->count from 0, but as it didn't think it was 0,
it doesn't.

Extending device_lock to cover the test on sh->count close these
races.

While we are here, fix the two BUG tests:
 -If count is zero, then lru really must not be empty, or we've
  lock the stripe_head somehow - no other tests are relevant.
 -STRIPE_ON_RELEASE_LIST is completely independent of ->lru so
  testing it is pointless.

commit 7a0a5355cb md: Don't test all of mddev->flags at once.
made most tests on mddev->flags safer, but missed one.

When
commit 260fa034ef md: avoid deadlock when dirty buffers during md_stop.
added MD_STILL_CLOSED, this caused md_check_recovery to misbehave.
It can think there is something to do but find nothing.  This can
lead to the md thread spinning during array shutdown.

e605b36575 cgroup: fix cgroup_subsys_state leak for seq_files
If a cgroup file implements either read_map() or read_seq_string(),
such file is served using seq_file by overriding file->f_op to
cgroup_seqfile_operations, which also overrides the release method to
single_release() from cgroup_file_release().

Because cgroup_file_open() didn't use to acquire any resources, this
used to be fine, but since f7d58818ba ("cgroup: pin
cgroup_subsys_state when opening a cgroupfs file"), cgroup_file_open()
pins the css (cgroup_subsys_state) which is put by
cgroup_file_release().  The patch forgot to update the release path
for seq_files and each open/release cycle leaks a css reference.

Fix it by updating cgroup_file_release() to also handle seq_files and
using it for seq_file release path too.

The source of this problem is that SCSI hosts are removed from
ATA ports after calling ata_tport_delete() which removes the
port's sysfs directory, among other things.  Now, after commit
bcdde7e221, the sysfs directory is removed along with all of
its subdirectories that include the SCSI host's sysfs directory
and its subdirectories at this point.  Consequently, when
device_del() is finally called for any child device of the SCSI
host and tries to remove its "power" group (which is already
gone then), it triggers the above warning.

To make the warnings go away, change the removal ordering in
ata_port_detach() so that the SCSI host is removed from the
port before ata_tport_delete() is called.

Which reports that we take mems_allowed_seq with interrupts enabled. A
little digging found that this can only be from
cpuset_change_task_nodemask().

This is an actual deadlock because an interrupt doing an allocation will
hit get_mems_allowed()->...->__read_seqcount_begin(), which will spin
forever waiting for the write side to complete.

40b13ca8dc i2c: omap: raw read and write endian fix
All OMAP IP blocks expect LE data, but CPU may operate in BE mode.
Need to use endian neutral functions to read/write h/w registers.
I.e instead of __raw_read[lw] and __raw_write[lw] functions code
need to use read[lw]_relaxed and write[lw]_relaxed functions.
If the first simply reads/writes register, the second will byteswap
it if host operates in BE mode.

Changes are trivial sed like replacement of __raw_xxx functions
with xxx_relaxed variant.

81440e7374 Revert "sysfs: handle duplicate removal attempts in sysfs_remove_group()"
This reverts commit 54d71145a4.

The root cause of these "inverted" sysfs removals have now been found,
so there is no need for this patch.  Keep this functionality around so
that this type of error doesn't show up in driver code again.

78e45c99f6 ASoC: pcm: Always honor DAI min and max sample rate constraints
snd_pcm_limit_hw_rates() will initialize the minimum and maximum sample rate for
the PCM stream based on the rates specified in the rates field. Since we call
snd_pcm_limit_hw_rates() after soc_pcm_init_runtime_hw() it will essentially
overwrite the min and max rate set in soc_pcm_init_runtime_hw(). This may cause
the minimum or maximum rate to be set to a value outside the range of one of the
components if one of the components sets either SNDRV_PCM_RATE_CONTINUOUS or
SNDRV_PCM_RATE_KNOT and the other component specified a discrete rate via
SNDRV_PCM_RATE_[0-9]* that is outside of the first component's rate range. To
fix this first calculate the minimum and maximum rates using
snd_pcm_limit_hw_rates() and then on top of that apply the contraints specified
in the snd_soc_pcm_stream structs.

17b6c19b34 ASoC: pcm: Fix rate_max calculation
In order to make sure that the sample rate is in the supported range of both
components the maximum rate of the card should be the minimum of the maximum
rate of each components. There is one special case to consider though, if
max_rate is set to 0 this means there is no maximum specified, so use
min_not_zero() macro which will give use the desired result.

ced4cefc75 ALSA: hda - Create Headhpone Mic Jack Mode when really needed
When a headphone jack is configurable as input, the generic parser
tries to make it retaskable as Headphone Mic.  The switching can be
done smoothly if Capture Source control exists (i.e. there is another
input source).  Or when user explicitly enables the creation of jack
mode controls, "Headhpone Mic Jack Mode" will be created accordingly.

However, if the headphone mic is the only input source, we have to
create "Headphone Mic Jack Mode" control because there is no capture
source selection.  Otherwise, the generic parser assumes that the
input is constantly enabled, thus the headphone is permanently set
as input.  This situation happens on the old MacBook Airs where no
input is supported properly, for example.

This patch fixes the problem: now "Headphone Mic Jack Mode" is created
when such an input selection isn't possible.

2ba3154d9c gpio: pl061: move irqdomain initialization
The PL061 driver had the irqdomain initialization in an unfortunate
place: when used with device tree (and thus passing the base IRQ
0) the driver would work, as this registers an irqdomain and waits
for mappings to be done dynamically as the devices request their
IRQs, whereas when booting using platform data the irqdomain core
would attempt to allocate IRQ descriptors dynamically (which works
fine) but also to associate the irq_domain_associate_many() on all
IRQs, which in turn will call the mapping function which at this
point will try to set the type of the IRQ and then tries to acquire
a non-initialized spinlock yielding a backtrace like this:

This moves the irqdomain initialization to a point where the spinlock
and GPIO chip are both fully propulated, so the callbacks can be used
without crashes.

I had some problem reproducing the crash, as the devm_kzalloc():ed
zeroed memory would seemingly mask the spinlock as something OK,
but by poisoning the lock like this:

I could reproduce, fix and test the patch.

For Wireless USB audio devices, use multiple isoc packets per URB for
inbound endpoints with a datainterval < 5.  This allows the WUSB host

limit in WUSB.

Tony reported that aa0d532605 ("ia64: Use preempt_schedule_irq")
broke PREEMPT=n builds on ia64.

Ok, wrapped my brain around it. I tripped over the magic asm foo which
has a single need_resched check and schedule point for both sys call
return and interrupt return.

So you need the schedule_preempt_irq() for kernel preemption from
interrupt return while on a normal syscall preemption a schedule would
be sufficient. But using schedule_preempt_irq() is not harmful here in
any way. It just sets the preempt_active bit also in cases where it
would not be required.

Even on preempt=n kernels adding the preempt_active bit is completely
harmless. So instead of having an extra function, moving the existing
one out of the ifdef PREEMPT looks like the sanest thing to do.

It would also allow getting rid of various other sti/schedule/cli asm
magic in other archs.

80897aa787 HID: uhid: fix leak for 64/32 UHID_CREATE
UHID allows short writes so user-space can omit unused fields. We
automatically set them to 0 in the kernel. However, the 64/32 bit
compat-handler didn't do that in the UHID_CREATE fallback. This will
reveal random kernel heap data (of random size, even) to user-space.

Most Thinkpad Edge series laptops use conexant codec, so far although
the codecs have different minor Vendor Id and minor Subsystem Id,

mute/mic-mute LEDs support more generic among cxt_5066 family.

This design refers to the similar solution for the realtek codec
ALC269 family in the patch_realtek.c.

We are missing building windfarm_max6690_sensor.o when building
CONFIG_WINDFARM_RM31. Usually all the windfarm drivers are built

9cb238c00b mmc: omap: Fix I2C dependency and make driver usable with device tree
Some features can be configured by the companion I2C chips,
which may not be available at the probe time. Fix the issue
by returning -EPROBE_DEFER when the MMC controller slots
are not configured.

While at it, let's also add minimal device tree support so
omap24xx platforms can use this driver without legacy mode
since we claim to support device tree for mach-omap2 based
systems.

Although adding the minimal device tree support is not strictly
a fix, it does remove one of the last blockers for dropping a
bunch of legacy platform data for mach-omap2.

Beagle (rev. C4) and Beagle-XM (all revs) need VAUX2 1.8V supply
for the USB PHY.

As the generic PHY driver can't handle more than one supply
at the moment, we configure this supply to be always on.
This will cause a very small power impact if the USB host subsystem
is not in use, about 76.86 micro-W + LDO power.

Older Beagle boards (prior to C4) don't have VAUX2 connected anywhere,
so there won't be any functional impact on those boards other than
some additional LDO power consumption.

IGEP's DVI connector's DDC pins are connected to OMAP's third i2c bus.

When booting with Device Trees the requested bus number is set to -1
which means that the bus number should be dynamically assigned. So the
third i2c bus has 2 has a bus number.

Since now only DT booting is supported for IGEP boards after commit
06ff74fd ("ARM: OMAP2+: remove legacy support for IGEP boards"), the
i2c bus number has to be changed.

912e663127 ARM: OMAP2+: Disable POSTED mode for errata i103 and i767
Enabling of Posted mode is seen to cause problems on dmtimer modules on AM33xx
(much like other OMAPs).  Reference discussions on forums [1] [2]. Earlier
patch solving this on other OMAPs [3].

For OMAP SoCs with this errata, the fix has been to not enable Posted mode.
However, on some SoCs (atleast AM33xx) which carry this errata, Posted mode
is enabled on reset. So we not only need to ignore enabling of the POSTED bit
when the timer is requested, but also disable Posted mode if errata is present.

5281973012 Revert "ARM: ux500: Stop passing MMC's platform data for Device Tree boots"
This reverts commit 49c129519a.

The special settings for the SD/MMC card parameters that are not
yet fully agreed upon how to encode into the device tree went missing
with this commit. We need to first put it into the device tree,
and then remove the platform data.
